Last month, the State Water Infrastructure Authority (SWIA) approved a total of $3.6 million in grants to local governments in Pamlico, Beaufort and Washington counties to address water infrastructure projects. Safe drinking water is critical to the health and well-being of everyone in North Carolina, and the N.C. General Assembly is committed to innovative solutions that address our community needs in Eastern North Carolina. These grants represent one of the many ways the State partners with communities to manage our water resources and protect public health. Included in our state budget for FY 2017-18, we increased our commitment to the SWIA, revising the net appropriation to $20.6 million. To learn more about this program, visit the SWIA website here.
